Kennedy was elected to the White House in November 1960, the American people embarked on a journey of 1,000 days into a mythical world that former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy would recall as Camelot. Photojournalist Stanley Tretick, who was given extensive access to the White House, captured images that evoked the youth, vigor and glamour of the Kennedy era.
